RESEARCH & REFERENCES
  1. Once-Weekly Semaglutide in Adults with Overweight or Obesity

Wilding JPH, Batterham RL, Calanna S, et al. New England Journal of Medicine. 2021.

Research published in New England Journal of Medicine reported greater weight reduction with semaglutide plus lifestyle intervention than with placebo in adults with overweight or obesity without diabetes. Gastrointestinal adverse events were common. Trial findings are not a prediction of an individual patient's result.

  2. Tirzepatide Once Weekly for the Treatment of Obesity

Jastreboff AM, Aronne LJ, Ahmad NN, et al. New England Journal of Medicine. 2022.

Research published in New England Journal of Medicine reported weight reduction with tirzepatide compared with placebo in adults with obesity without diabetes. Gastrointestinal adverse events occurred, particularly during dose escalation. Outcomes depend on the population, treatment and dose studied.

  3. Tirzepatide as Compared with Semaglutide for the Treatment of Obesity

Aronne LJ, Horn DB, le Roux CW, et al. New England Journal of Medicine. 2025.

Research published in New England Journal of Medicine reported greater average weight reduction with tirzepatide than semaglutide in the specific open-label SURMOUNT-5 trial. The finding does not establish an appropriate medication or expected outcome for any particular patient.

Florida Trim Clinic’s educational information is general and is not individualized medical advice. Prescription treatment requires evaluation by a licensed provider. Eligibility, medication selection and dosing depend on individual circumstances.

Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality before marketing.

Compounded products are not FDA-approved versions of brand-name drugs, and clinical trials of approved products do not establish equivalent safety or effectiveness for compounded products. FDA registration of a facility is not FDA approval of its compounded medicines. FDA advises compounded drugs should only be used for patients whose medical needs cannot be met by an FDA-approved drug. Availability and prescribing are subject to applicable law and individual provider evaluation.

For compounded GLP-1 medicines, FDA has reported dosing errors and product-quality concerns. Semaglutide sodium and semaglutide acetate are different active ingredients from the one in approved medicines. Follow the licensed provider’s and dispensing pharmacy’s instructions; discuss dosing, storage and any adverse effects with them. Read FDA’s current compounded GLP-1 safety information.

Our Origin

Where It All Began
